Masai Mara, Zanzibar and Arusha Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Arusha – To Tarangire National Park.

Start your journey in Arusha which is a vibrant town at the foot of Mount Meru. After a short meeting with the safari guide, head to the Tarangire National Park. Ride through the scenic landscape of the Great Rift Valley, and watch the neighboring villages and the vast landscapes adorned with acacia trees. When you are in Tarangire, this is when your first game drive begins. Famous for its gigantic ancient trees, the huge numbers of elephants and many other predators, Tarangire provides a gentle introduction to the wildlife of Tanzania. End your day in a premium tented camp or lodge which is situated on the bank of the Tarangire River where one can have a drink of sundowners while the animals congregate at the water source.

Day 2

Morning & Afternoon Game Drives in Tarangire

An early start helps the wildlife to be active and you get to see the beautiful sunrise of the Tanzanian savannah. Make sure to keep your camera ready for the best wildlife photography. Have a sumptuous bush breakfast in the middle of the wilderness then proceed to some many other activities that include visiting the Maasai communities in the nearby manyattas. Look out for the roaring lions, cheetahs and a variety of bird species along the river shores of Tarangire. The parks’ temporary swamp provides a perfect place for bird watchers and nature lovers particularly because different species of animals are drawn to the area. To end the day, you will be taken to your luxury safari lodge where you will have candle lit dinners by the campfire to complete the day’s activities.

Day 3

Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Next Destination to the Serengeti.

Travel to one of Ngorongoro Africa’s Conservation most Area, breathtaking which regions, is the also a UNESCO Natural Heritage Site. Get into the Ngorongoro Crater which is a deepcaldera that is home to many species of animals including the zebra, wildebeest, black rhino and elephants. The crater is a closed ecosystem which makes it easy to spot a high number of animals making it a perfect location for a photographer. Have your lunch as you look at hippos swimming in a lagoon while you take shots of this rather unique landscape. Proceed towards the Serengeti where you will drive through vast stretches of grasslands that are sometimes home to the Great Migration. Get into the vehicle and head to your high-end tented camp where you can spend the remainder of the day gazing at the endless African sky.

Day 4

Whole-Day Safari in the Serengeti

Start your day with game drives in the largest national park in the world, the Serengeti, famous for its dramatic wildlife phenomena and fierce battles between the lions, leopards and hyenas. See the massive wildebeests roaming on the savannah during the migration period or the tree-living lions sleeping in the acacia trees. With the help of the experienced guides, every turn becomes an exploration of the new and incredible; it can be cheetah cubs practicing their hunting skills or a graceful giraffe against the background of the setting sun. For a more unique view one can go for a hot air balloon safari in the Serengeti and its endless plains. Day 5

Serengeti – End of the Tour or Optional Continuation of the Tour

One last game drive is possible before you proceed to the local airstrip or you can start your journey. It is good to have a look at the last scenes of this incredible savannah before going to Arusha or continuing the journey to Zanzibar’s nice beaches. We therefore encourage you to follow your Northern Tanzania safari with a cultural or beach tour; lie on the white sands of Zanzibar or tour Lake Manyara National Park to view the tree climbing lions and flocks of flamingos.
